CDW and TP on Car insurance policy

Hi and Thanks in advance. My wife is going to the UK, she has booked a rental car from Green Motion. She has not chosen additional insurance. The insurance details are provided by Booking dot com. It says that CDW & TP are not included in the rental cover (collision damage waiver and theft protection) When we look at car excess insurance providers they mention CDW but don't mention TP and there seems to be no way to add it. Is this "removal" of theft protection a way the rental companies are forcing you to use their damage waiver products? I say "removal,, because I never heard of no theft protection before. I have been out of the UK for a few years and the whole car rental business seems to have become cut-throat and expensive. Any good ideas/suggestions ? Thanks

CDW and TP are both just an excess you have to pay towards loss/damage. Looking at one random Car Hire Excess standalone policy is states it covers the excess for accidental damage, fire, theft, vandalism and therefore would cover you for the theft excess1

It was a random selection from Google (https://www.icarhireinsurance.com/) rather than a recommendation.0

We’re sorry…
We’re sorry, but residents of Japan cannot currently buy a policy through iCarhireinsurance.com for use in the country selected, so we are unable to provide you with a quote today.
We’re currently working to expand our services, so you may be able to buy a policy if your visit us again before your next trip

in fact, I cannot find any overseas country that doesn't come up with the same message with the relevant country name inserted. Even France has the same message. Ohhh the US fares a little better in that they can't provide insurance for US residents, but they do refer you to a sister website which can.0
