Buying car - first time in 30 years

Cars are like anything else some are in demand and there is a massive waiting list, where as some are in stock and ready to go.
I would suggest 1st deciding what type of car you want.
Talk a walk around some dealerships.
Remember that this time you won't be restricted to a company car list. So have a good look around. What size, what fuel, what type of gearbox etc.
Test drive as many different manufacturers as you can. Pick the model and trim and then start to negotiate.
You are in a strong position you have no part exchange that the dealer will have to pay with.
Get some quotes, from your local dealer as well as online providers like car wow, (still from a main dealer but the prices can be much lower.)
You might have to be flexible on colour or you may prefer to wait but that is up to you. There are still lots of deals out there you just have to be cheeky. After all, if you don't ask you don't get and what is the worst they can say ? No !Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A1 -
