eBay debt transferred back to eBay - anyone else been in this situation?

I had an issue with eBay around October 2021. An eBay dispute led to me being required to refund a buyer 525 which I refused to do. After a while of not paying, eBay sold the debt to a third-party debt collection agency.

After ignoring the debt collection agency for a while, I received a final warning saying the next action would be to take me to court. So I agreed a payment plan and have been paying £20 a month since around March 2022.

As of June 2023, the debt decreased to around £280. But when I tried to check the balance very recently, I wasn't able to access my account. Just today, I received an email from the debt collection agency saying:

"Unfortunately, we are no longer dealing with your account here at Debt and Revenue Services/ Ardent Credit Services and your account has been returned to our client.

Please contact eBay directly in order to resolve this matter and avoid our client sending your account to another agency."

eBay hasn't sent me anything by email yet. If eBay doesn't contact me I can just forget about it? Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation?

I would be tempted to stop making any payments for now and then see who contacts you.

Screenshot the evidence stating the bit about the account having been returned.

What happened to the £525? If there was a dispute and the item was returned, why didn't you just refund the money?!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
