SSE have sent me 4 different final bills, all showing conflicting information

I left SSE gas and electric (gas on prepayment) several months ago.

Received a Final Statement for the gas. Said I was in credit by £60, I'll receieve a cheque. Another one comes through, says I'm in credit my £200. And another showing £600. Thought nothing of it of it.

Just recieved one saying I'm in Debit of £400. That I owe them money. How is this possible that I'm in either debit or credit? I was on prepayment, I was confirmed I was not in debt as they agreed to put me on credit meter which I declined because I went with Octopus. Even when topping up it woidl not deduct a debt.

I've tried contacting SSE to no avail. Rang them who transfer me to the Finals department, they don't answer for hours. Call the Finals department myself and they don't answer. The Twitter and WhatsApp team tell me to call the Finals team, but they don't ANSWER!

I left this horrible company and they're still haunting me.

I've emailed their complaints department but knowing how SSE have been I doubt I'd hear back

Raise a formal written complaint and get a reference number.
You can then go to the ombudsman upon receipt of a deadlock letter or after six weeks if they don't send one.
They had to agree to six weeks rather than the normal eight because their customer service was so bad.  Seems nothing has changed !
