Switching tariffs within British Gas
Options
I have a British Gas smart meter installed 05/23, working perfectly according to BG. My 2yr fixed tariff ended 21/06 and I applied to switch to an electric driver tariff on 18/06 thinking it should not take longer than 24 hrs within the same company. However since then I have been asked to supply manual readings on 21/06, 23/06 and finally 30/06 and have not been switched to the electric 2 rate tariff although I have been to the gas tariff! Has anyone had the same problem or can explain what the problem might be?

They seem in a mess, lost my bill for June, when I chatted said they would email me it (is not under the bill tab) and then sent me an email saying it was impossible to download! I asked if my credit balance included the bill (which the agent could see) and I was told yes but think it does not, the only change made is now have smart meters fitted which are sending the correct info according to the online meter readings. If I move from BG, in five years time they will probably send me threatening letters saying I have an unpaid bill for June 2023!0

I would be very happy if my British Gas Smart Meters just worked!!! Although experience tells me that QrizB is right to say its unreasonable to expect British gas to have working smart meters (and indeed an App that works).0
