As has been suggested, much of the increase could well be down to the badge. Think it was in a recent daily paper article, various models of Land Rovers were in the top 10.
My renewals up 70%; I have combined motor/home policies so 🤞 that may have some leverage when I speak to them. Interestingly we only sold our Freelander in April and so I wonder what the renewal may have been on that.0 -

Will just have to do my best to negotiate with the AA0 -
Morning OP, I know it might not be of much comfort to you but I called insurers this morning and they’ve dropped car renewal from £624 to £484 and home from £205 to £189 (last year I was paying £335/£155). Didn’t really have to negotiate, was asked if I’d had other quotes and where from - said they were through usual search engines and ironically none of the quotes were appreciably lower than theirs. So they’ve managed to instantly drop 22%/8%. Renewal not due for few weeks so delayed payment, wondering about calling back nearer to see if those really are their final figures 🤞1

I've had similar with two other cars that we own, the most recent in May.... for this current renewal, I literally can't believe it, and I'm sure it will get much better, but I think I just have to hold out for a few more days, and then go in hard on a good pushback...however I do think insurance firms have just had enough of this brand featuring so highly in theft's
Makes me think back to the 80's (although I was not quite driving then) when hot hatches of the day were being stolen and joy riders would have their fun with the cars, and how those cars almost became uninsurable !0 -
What about the NHS rent a car scheme so that you do not need to worry about the insurance?0

Last year I paid under £200.
This year was quoted just under £400.
Comparison sites, same insurer was £380.
Added £500 voluntary excess to get renewal under £300.
My car is a 1L, full NCB, hubby as ND, both have business use, no accidents etc.
Sibling has had their policy increase by about £140py.
I enjoyed the cheap insurance while it lasted 😄Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
