John Lewis Partnership Card

I’ve  had 2 emails, on in June  and one in July 2023, purporting to be from HSBC saying they are taking back the John Lewis Partnership card from New Day……is this true?

No. What do the emails say exactly?

No it's not true. What the email is telling you is that the 'old' John Lewis card that was run by HSBC is changing the way any outstanding payments are made, and that the original app is being discontinued (as obviously the card doesn't exist anymore) and that any ongoing enquiries in relation to the old card and its account will now go through HSBC's main help centre. All communications in relation to the 'old' card will now come from HSBC and not John Lewis.

The 'new' John Lewis card is still, and will still be operated by Newday. There are people that didn't swap over and still have a balance to pay, those that might have a refund to query, or a chargeback claim outstanding - so there are still reasons for some people to still want to talk to the 'old' John Lewis card provider.

Yeah. I noticed an update on my Clearscore/Equifax records yesterday saying under 'changes' in June were Credit card added HSBC and Credit card removed John Lewis.
And they both have the same last four digits, so I breathed a sigh of relief 'cos I got a bit worried thinking 'I don't have any cards with HSBC. What do they mean?!'
