Wireless Ring Doorbell recommendations?

For your car or have you posted in the wrong section?2

A Ring bell requires an annual subscription if recorded video needs accessing. It is stored for a period. But, they do have those other functions. Not cheap either.I do have a 2nd generation version but didn't renew the subscription because they increased the price too much, in my opinion.I can't suggest which section this should be posted - "In my home"?0

I have a ring doorbell and had it for a few years now. Its recently upgraded its app with new features and the previous posts around accessing stored videos is correct - you have to pay an annual membership and you get to access around 1 months of videos which is a handy feature.I had a few issues with the Ring doorbell within the first few months I had it. The doorbell developed a fault and then the performance wasn't great. I complained a lot to their customer service (who to be fair were good). I received a new replacement doorbell and the signal booster free of charge. Its been ok since but I still find it a little slow to respond when someone rings my doorbell and the 2 way audio quality isn't great. I would look into other brands like Eufy and Nest if I was purchasing again.0

I've never had a ring doorbell or similar but if I was buying think I'd consider the EUFY as they have the storage in a hub at your homme rather than cloud so I understand avoid the subscription charges. All to be checked.0

I have Eufy doorbell, battery version. Works really well. When someone rings the bell you get the ring on your phone you can see who is at the door and speak to them if you need to. I have spoken to visitors when I was in South East Asia. Also it is very configurable. Not cheap but no subscription.2 -
Be aware that you need to make sure the video isn't capturing your neighbours too. It can be difficult with a doorbell because in many streets your front door faces the house opposite.
There are GDPR implications if it captures your neighbours.
Does anyone make one that doesn't have a camera built in, but instead triggers video from a separate camera that can be located so it only captures people on your property?0
