Giving away energy to big business

I have 'gone solar' with panels on my roof. I have applied to Scottish Power for them to buy my excess. For weeks now, I have been feeding power into the network.
Scottish Power say they will get round to my application "in due course".
How long is that?
I phoned their customer services team to find out. They say all such matters can only be dealt with by the relevant team - who are not contactable by telephone! So I have been politely emailing, but got no response.
Will I get paid for all the electricity I have supplied so far? Does anybody have any idea how to get Scottish Power to do anything?

Yes, this is normal.
Sorry, it can take months.1 -
Not if you are with Octopus it doesn’t. Any delay is usually down to the DNO not providing an export MPAN as quickly as the homeowner would wish.CSI_Yorkshire said:

Switch your supply electricity to Octopus and get the export set up with them. You can get paid 15p/kWh for your export.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Panels ordered May 2022, installed Nov 2022. Have MPAN number and submitted first reading two months ago. Not even an acknowledgement email to say received. Owed over £200 of SEG and when call Scottish power have no staff to answer calls. Appalling that having to wait for investment returns. They can read my supply meter and collect their monies so just read to do it in reverse. It’s simple enough.0

As you say completely unacceptable. So why not switch?
