Land registry issue-requires council documents

Hi everyone, I am at the point of nearly completing.
However the land registry has it down as a detached property but it is a semi with 2 garages and it is a title deed plan change. I am in a rental property but the landlord has given me 2mths notice which ends shortly and my mortgage offer runs out on the 16th of Aug.
The last update is that the land registry have asked the new local council for council documents. It has been registered on the council website with council tax. There is no phone number for the council.
I can’t find an email address for land registry either.
I am very stressed out as a single parent with 2 young kids and a house full of items. I have no where to go.
Please help with any advice!

What has your solicitor advised? Have they set out a list of what is required to get this resolved?Did the title plan (with map) show a semi-detached property with red line around the land, did that look correct? Is it just the accompanying text states detached?0

What sort of "council documents"?0

Don’t know what council documents. My solicitor found very early in the search back in March that the boundary was showing red of a detached property and red around my side of my boundary and next doors garden and garage.I signed the new new one in yellow back in March but the seller’s solicitor is very slow to respond. The seller’s solicitor has asked the land registry to expedite it but that was nearly a month ago.0

So is the issue that the seller owns two properties on one title and you're waiting for the title to be split?0

It doesn't sound like you can give us enough information for us to give useful advice. If you're not sure what's going on, talk to your solicitor.0

That is correct the seller built the property 20 years ago and rented both properties and now trying to sell it for the first time.I have been chasing my solicitor but the seller’s solicitor has been slow with giving the updates. Just concerned that each time I contact my solicitor he is going to charge me each time.Sorry I am trying my best to understand everything.Any ideas of what council documents they have requested?0

If you are only buying part of the title then I would've expected the title split to be dealt with on completion rather than before. You need to ask your solicitor to explain what is happening as we can only guess.
Have you agreed to pay your solicitor on an hourly basis or fixed fee? The latter is most common, in which case you won't be charged extra for asking a question (but may be charged extra for dealing with splitting a title if that wasn't anticipated when they quoted you).
Regarding your rental you don't have to move out when your landlord's notice expires but he may then take you to court to evict you. Is he aware of your situation?

Yeah the landlord is aware and I am still paying rent.It was a title plan change and I phoned my solicitor today and been assured that it is not by the hour and the cost is not going up.I can’t buy the property without the change. My solicitor is going to ask for evidence that the land registry has expedited and also what council documents they are asking for. Also said it might be worth speaking to my mortgage provider to see if they can extend the offer because of this. Thanks for the advice I feel better and less stressed about it. Just hope the land registry sorts it out asap so I can complete asap0
