Washing machine just out of warranty

The above misses some key points IMO, regarding ordinary wear and tear and whether the component or components in this case might have reasonably been expected to last longer than they have. Possibly not.0

As far as I'm concerned there aren't any components in a washing machine that the consumer should be expected to replace in it's lifetime.benson1980 said:The above misses some key points IMO, regarding ordinary wear and tear and whether the component or components in this case might have reasonably been expected to last longer than they have. Of course should a washing machine record how often it's used and showed someone had used their machine 4 times a day, 7 days a week, etc, etc then rather than fair wear and tear it would be the item lasting it's lifespan for the amount of use rather than length of time.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
You haven't actually specified what's wrong with it (or if you have i missed it). It might be something as simple as a belt, clogged / blocked outlet pump or carbon brushes (which are all "DIY" fixes and not hugely expensive parts wise). I've even changed out the entire pump on an old bosch washing machine when the impeller failed (obviously not everyone can do this). So, as this is MSE, does the machine actually give you a fault code or is there some symptom we can work from?0
