    I find fences an ongoing pain.

    As others have said, it probably depends on where it is (and how much sun/soil/water it gets).

    If I cut mine once a year I wouldn't be able to leave the house as it'd completely block the path - it needs to be cut at least three times (around Feb/March, August, and again in Octoberish). It can easily grow a foot or more outwards between cuttings, so I've been known to trim the side facing the path between as well. 
    I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.
