Im aware of how hair pieces work, to pay over £200 for something I’m going to have to trim considerably- so wasting 25% of what I purchased, and doesn’t cover the right areas on my head is unacceptable to meAlderbank said:A hairpiece should be long. The idea is that you put it on then trim like natural hair so that it looks right.
If the seller tries to deny your consumer rights you can try to raise a dispute with your bank (a chargeback). They will expect you to return the unused item so you need the seller's address.0 -
What made you believe it was a private sale and what now makes you think it is a business?

If it's a business seller tell them that as the item is "not as described" they are in breach of s11 of the Consumer Rights Act and you are entitled to a full refund.
If they won't play ball raise a chargeback with your bank and emphasise to your bank that the seller is in breach because the item is "not as described".
(NB - I'm assuming that you can demonstrate that whatever you received is not as described in any advert etc)0 -

Do they have any more identical items listed for sale, or was this made to order for you?1

At £200 it's actually not an expensive price and i would say 'you get what you pay for'...... in as far as -
Hairpieces/extensions/toppers/wigs are an indepth and complicated choice if you're buying a quality item and the seller wouldn't just sell one without a proper consultation that took up to an hour.
I think the way this has been purchased indicates that there would be a, more than fair, chance of customer dissatisfaction.
OP, use standard return process, this wasn't a made to measure item and if it's still virginal they should accept the return.0 -
