Online purchase

I bought a hairpiece online for £2OO+ which isn’t right but I’m being told “no returns”
It’s never been used and they’re telling me I can re-sell it which I don’t want to do.

What are my rights before I go into battle?

What do you mean by 'it isn't right'?
That, and the terms and conditions of the purchase, determine what your rights are.
ETA: always helpful to tell us who you bought it from2 -
It’s longer than described and doesn’t fit0
-
If it's never been used how do you know it doesn't fit?0

If it's a 'change of mind', ie you just don't like the look of it, you can probably return it for a full refund, less postage. It depends who you bought it from.
Hence asking who you bought it from.
When you bought it and how you paid would be good also.1 -
Bought and paid with debit card 2 weeks ago, delivery very slow. Private seller via Facebook page.As it’s an online sale what are my rights, ie can they just say No Returns and tough luck??0

A private sale? You don't have any consumer rights to be honest. Although it would be unusual for a true private seller to accept debit card payments. Are you sure they aren't a business seller?
IF they are a commercial business and sold you something that is not as described then you are entitled to a full refund and they have to pay for the return. If it's just that you don't like it and have changed your mind it's possibly more difficult - you should in theory have 14 days to change your mind if it was an online sale (was it?) and get a refund (you would have to pay for the return postage) but I'm not sure if hair products like that may have hygiene limits on returns?1 -
You say a private seller.
Is it a someone running a business making/selling hairpieces or is it a private seller selling their own possessions?2 -
So I think it’s actually a business, the hair piece wasn’t in a sealed packet or anything and I haven’t tried it on as I knew as soon as I saw it that it was too long and not going to fittightauldgit said:A private sale? A hairpiece should be long. The idea is that you put it on then trim like natural hair so that it looks right.
If the seller tries to deny your consumer rights you can try to raise a dispute with your bank (a chargeback). They will expect you to return the unused item so you need the seller's address.1
