Morning all
Its lovely and sunny here I am sorry that some of you have bad weather. I did a bit of pottering in the garden yesterday did some dead heading and planted a new plant, I have another two to go in but all my pots are full so I need to get another couple, I have a lot of plants in metal buckets which last for years and age nicely so I will get another couple of them, I also got the lawn mowed and then I cooked a bbq it was a lovely evening with just a slight chill in the air later.
Onto today dd is working a late shift so just OH and I here for dinner which will be another bbq, I have a couple of the lamb chops left and some burgers, I will do some veg too, aubergine courgette and stuffed peppers.
I have stripped the bed this morning and got the bedding in the wm it should dry well today, I need to run the hoover round.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Hello all, yesterday turned out dry and sunny so I washed the bedding and a clothes wash and got it all dry. I tackled the front side hedge too so now that's tidier. I spoke to Tom, our neighbour, who told me that he's rented out next door again and they will move in next week sometime, a parent and their 2 university children. The other side are a young couple but they are not moving in till Oct, he's such a gossip font of knowledge, he could give "Dai the milk" a run for his money 😂
Dad is coming over today for lunch so we'll look for a new fridge freezer online for him, Curry's only has a few on show in the shop. He has also requested a haircut, Mr Fix It could do with a beard trim too so perhaps I'll open my salon this afternoon. We're having beef today with all the trimmings, then crumpets for tea followed by lemon meringue pie.
Topsy sorry I didn't see your post till last night, I'll put you on the list to borrow Mr Fix It 😁
Take care all, hugs to the poorly, unsettled and MIA's.

Morning All
It was bright and sunny when I got up but when I came out of the loch the heavens opened. Big black clouds are looming so I think it'll be a day of surprises.
Painting still ongoing, I gave up with the first lot of paint, it was too difficult to work with, and I've bought more which is a whole lot better. The kitchen is nearly finished, just need to sort out one side of a door that the paint doesn't look too good on then the handles and hooks can go on.
I'm off to a retirement do this afternoon for a few hours then it's back to more painting.
Good on your DS Coxy!
What a shock Izzy!
Hope everyone is well and has a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX10 -
Hello All,
I thought I would pop in and say hello. I try to read most days, but I tend not to post as I don’t have much to say!
Most of my days are spent at home, pottering around. I still have two 90 year old parents who are becoming more and more frail. Carers come in 4 times a day, and they are excellent, but I still do the admin type jobs required.
DH has now taken early retirement, and I gave up work 12 years ago now due to health issues. Fibromyalgia is still with me, but it’s ok.
Old style? I still try to budget, although it is getting more difficult. I am going to reread some of the old threads for inspiration.
I am just taking a rest, got signs of a cold, grrr, and we are going away tomorrow for a small break. I have just swept the porch way, and tried to avoid the spiders falling down on me!
I hope you are all keeping well.

Good afternoon
Didn’t manage to post yesterday, was not in the right headspace. I felt low and thought we’ve gone back to 6 months ago. I didn’t sit down until I went to bed. I ended up bursting into tears 3 or 4 times. Thankfully I feel a bit better today.
My list of jobs are still growing grass needs cutting, need to vacuum the house well my bedroom, the lounge & stairs. Also prep meals for tomorrow as I’m back to work and the kitchen & bathroom needs a wipe round. I might have to give the grass a miss until Wednesday.Izzy - write the book I would read it.
Gers - I’ve been living off sweet things wondering if that’s why I seem to have an energy slump.
TA - I need to go to North Yorkshire, love Harrogate, Ripon, Pately Bridge and surrounding area. My dads ashes are spread on the North Yorkshire Moors.Ruby - your pots sound lovely.
Nanny - I will pay for a 1 way ticket - my list is that long.
Hugs to anyone that needs one. Take care.9 -
Welcome Peony lovely to welcome you to the Daily.
TOPSY life is tough for you just now (hugs) I'll give your love to Pateley when I'm back at the caravan next weekend. We are at Summerbridge beside the Nidd so not far away x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -

A moment on the lips and hours on the sofa. Not a grain of sugar has been eaten today.
The really nasty weather only lasted for about half an hour, for the rest of today it's been bright, very windy and not very warm so I managed to take away the car load of rubbish, grass cuttings and recycling stuff. Then I've been watching various recordings which have been lingering for too long.7 -
Welcome to Peony. Don't worry, quite a few of us just ramble away about everything. I do try to mention something OStyle if I can but it's usually what we're having for teaTopsy, sorry I just looked back and saw the post about DS coming home. I'm not surprised you felt a bit low yesterday , you must have been tired after 2 90 min journeys , then getting DS settled and everything else. Lots of hugs x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)7

Topsy, you're doing an awful lot by yourself so it's normal to be on the low side sometimes. Peony, it's never easy, being a full time carer and admnistrator is difficult enough just doing one...Everything spills over together..I did a big fat nothing this morning until 12 ish when I went into the garden. 3 hours later I came in and went shopping for the cats tuna, came back, did the dishes, emptied the dishwasher, making tea now [ porch chops with herbs under the grill, tomatoes and rocket [ from teh garden!] in oil and vinegar and potato salad [ sadly not form the garden, next week maybe]. The gardens had a good tody up, I put the two fences back, lined and filled my new to me trug, watered, set up the pond pump in my new water tank pond and now I@m pooped and can just barely get up formt eh sofa. I may have overdone it a little bit.Yesterday was fun though, it was nice to see her and my god, her daughter is a beauty..All the greek genes I expectI have read along today and am mentally cheering you all onNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi5

Hi everyone,
I hope you don't mind me joining you? its been a while since I've been on MSE. Life just got busy. I've got married and had a baby in between.
I've got quite a few things coming up including leaving my job in just over 3 weeks to home educate my 4 year old daughter. Shes possibly autistic and maybe ADHD with a speech and language delay. Shes shown signs of not coping in an educational setting so we've opted to HE her. Its going to be a bit of an adventure getting into the swing of things and going to have to tighten our belts going down to one main income. I do have a casual contract invigilating in the school i am currently working at and will look for other opportunities to add a little to the savings pot.
i hope everyone is ok x
