Good morning, thanks for starting Gers, it's a nice morning here as well.
I'm gnashing my teeth down to the gums because I've just done a post and accidentally deleted it grrr.
Hope everyone is ok though, and has a good day.
Take care folks.13 -
Yesterday was so miserable and even cold. I did a little bit of shopping in the morning, enough to do me until midweek at least. In the afternoon I suddenly became so tired that I fell asleep in my chair for half an hour or so. I'm putting this down to eating cake for the first time in two weeks and getting a real, sugar slump, won't be doing that again! After I woke up I decided to take rubbish and grass cuttings to the tip, I only got as far as loading the car up. The cold wind was so biting, I assume an east one, that I went back indoors, got out the electric throw, wrapped it round me and sat in the heat of for an hour. 😀
Today I'll aim for the tip again. I have flan and salad for my meal.I hope that everyone is doing well, it's getting very quiet in here again, I fear that the daily is failing. Nevertheless- happy Sunday to all.11 -
Morning everyone dog has been walked it’s very overcast here and a chilly wind I thought I was going to get wet but I managed to get home but it’s definitely blown the cobwebs off what’s happened to summer. Hubby has decided he is going to drive the car today not far just around the the outskirts of the town he is walking with one stick now he is determined to drive to his physio appointment in two weeks. Gers I’ve had the throw over me as well but I’ve kept well away from cake . I have got a small gammon joint out I will cook it this morning and we will have a sandwich at lunch time and salad and new potatoes tonight and there will be enough left for a sandwich tomorrow. Taff it didn’t matter where I looked there wasn’t a lot to see 😂 I could write a book on some of the jobs I’ve done and the things that’s happened I could tell you things that would make your hair curl but no body would believe me. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Good morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers.
The sun is shining here, but it's cooler and breezy. I might go in the garden today, as a lot of shrubs need trimming.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. x12 -
Today I am helping serve lunches at my friend’s church monthly singles lunch club .
I was asked to make quiche ,which I have ,
I am not religious and am wondering how on earth I got involved.
I will try and post daily as I love reading this thread13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for kicking off. Another day of sunshine and showers, as well as that blooming wind making it feel quite cold at times. I have read another heatwave is due later this month - it's all or nothing this summer.
I enjoyed my bus trip to Harrogate and I couldn't believe how busy the bus was. As expected it was mostly us old codgers with our free passes but the old lass in front of me put her bank card on the reader by mistake! It slowed everybody down whilst the driver sorted it out. Harrogate was very busy (compared to our town) but I was sad to see, even there, quite a few of the shops which were there on my last visit were no more. I had a nice wander around, mostly browsing but I did get one or two bits in M & S and TKMaxx. I felt so tired on the bus ride back I was frightened of nodding off and having to be woken up! But as soon as I got sat down back home I was off in the land of nod!
Wm is currently on the go but I am not risking it outside looking at the threatening sky. I have some ham stock defrosting to make ham and lentil soup shortly, as well as prepping veg for my lunch. DD is due at some point with a water butt she has got me off Freecycle. I was hoping to get some much needed weeding done in the front garden as I have treat myself to a garden kneeler but that won't happen today I don't think. I am a fair weather gardener at the best of times.
Have a nice day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. GERS I agree we are having another slump on the Daily and I hope between us stalwarts we can keep it going. It's never been this quiet. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all, thanks Gers, it was certainly wild and windy here too, it was the 1st day I'd put long jeans on instead of capri length for ages. Seems a bit better today hopefully.Suffolk Sue, I generally have a look at this thread when I sit down for my breakfast after taking the dog out first thing. Perhaps a lot of people are away.We had the curry last night but I think I did too many starters as the menfolk have left half their mains but I'm sure they'll finish it off later. I did get a small joint of beef out for tea but can always shunt that to tomorrow if needs be.We did the bits of shopping for DS2 at his local Al di, needless to say we got some for us too, but DH did resist buying more beer/wine. Took it back to DS and I put it away & DH checked everywhere was ok. I have to say that since he moved into his own house he has become much tidier, even the kids bedrooms were immaculate, probably not tonight when they get home from holiday though. Not sure what's on the cards today but a lot of the local roads will be either shut or 1 way due to the iron man event. It can be a bit disruptive but the routes are well publicised weeks ahead and it brings a lot of much needed income into the local economy.Glad DH is feeling up to driving Izzy.Cross posted with you TA, glad you enjoyed your trip to Harrogate. It's usually 'oldies' on our bus too apart from the early one.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12

Morning everyone
It was windy all day yesterday and it's still windy today. I got 3 coats of blue paint on the garden benches but you can still see a little bit of brown shining through so I think it will still need another 3. I had thought I might change the shed to blue but have changed my mind now, it will get a fresh coat of brown at some point. Had a nice day just pottering about getting various jobs done and some reading too. Had a chat with eldest DD too - she was spending the afternoon at the outdoor pool with a friend.
This morning I'll go down to sit with dad while mam goes to church...He'll have an email from DD for me to read and type his reply to.
TA - I've often thought Harrogate would be a nice town to visit, I've never been.
I'd better get moving, I'll have a quick hoover before I get dressed.
Hope everyone has a good day x13 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Didn't manage to get on yesterday. Just spent the day pottering in the garden, tidying, weeding etc. Also did the meal plan and shopping list for the week ahead, so I'm off to Aldi shortly. DS2 found out this week that his ex took up with someone else almost the minute they split up (rather than concentrating on her A levels/uni application like she told him). He has gone from heartbroken to couldn't care less - that's my boy!!!
Dinner today will be roast chicken etc. DH has a 50th to go to this afternoon so hopefully he will be in a fit state to eat a roast! DDad still with us until tomorrow night. Might take him to a garden centre this afternoon as I could do with some more compost and pots.
Have a good day all - sunny here in Kent so hope it lasts!

My best laid semi-plans to go the tip this morning have already been scuppered as there is now rain, not just rain, driving windy rain! Instead I ventured into my wardrobe to see what's in it. I don't have many things which need hanging up, it's mostly old jackets (which I don't wear any more) and my two Scamp&Dude dresses. I'll be taking things to the CS on Thursday when I'm in Glasgow - I've taken a huge blue bag up to put things in - it can't be called decluttering as it's not clutter but a load will be going. There was an old holey cardigan in there which is now in the bin.As I definitely overdosed yesterday (one was a free pastry from Marks
) so I'll not eat much today, certainly learnt my lesson.
TA - Harrogate is a lovely place, it's a shame that the changes have affected it too. My favourite place in Yorkshire is Saltburn-by-the-sea, it's always a delight to be there.12
