Yodel (non) delivery issue

But if I don't get accurate information, I'm going to complain to Yodel, so either way they are going to know the driver didn't deliver this parcel when he said he did.tightauldgit said:
Yeah but that's part of the problem. While you would probably accept the parcel being a day late (I think most reasonable people would if it meant getting accurate info) Yodel won't and then when the driver hasn't met their targets they might be subject to disciplinary action or reduced payments. That's why the drivers are improvising their own workarounds.borderline said:
I would accept if my parcel was delivered a day or so late. I chose collection from the shop so I didn't have to wait for a delivery when I didn't know when it was arriving.tightauldgit said:
It's annoying as hell but I also think most people also consider that the delivery drivers are working under awful conditions and any complaint is only more likely to get the driver disciplined/fired than the company to change their policies so it's a difficult one to balance morally.
The problem here when they say it was delivered when it wasn't, I worry about the parcel not knowing where it is and also for the shopkeeper, when they said it was delivered to them and it wasn't.
I'm sure there also are some dishonest drivers just taking the P but that's also a result of the couriers making delivery driver one of the lowest of the low forms of employment now. Plus even an honest driver might be told by a supervisor back at the depot 'just scan them all as delivered'0 -
Well yeah you might, but lots won't. And if it's delivered the next day then it'll be sorted before anything comes of it really. And they might be happier getting 1 or 2 complaints than 100 parcels not delivered on time.borderline said:

All I'm pointing out is that there's a reason why this stuff happens and it's not generally a delivery driver wanting to annoy the customer by giving them bad info.0 -
Yes, because they're all self employed contractors, anyone can be a courier, consequently their turnover of staff numbers is very high.Rantband said:soolin,
the ironic part of that account is " but in future this needed to be reported quickly as it hindered their investigation as driver was no longer available to them"0 -
Ironic as in expecting me to report it earlier , when in fact they wouldn’t let me. If they have a high turnover of staff and they know they employ some that perhaps aren’t going to work out, then surely investigating quickly would be in their best interests? Suggesting, how ever carefully that the public are In some way responsible for the conduct of their staff and we are somehow at fault for not bringing it to their attention earlier is nonsensical.Catsacor said:
