Entirely depends how it was disconnected.
If will be very different if it was just fuse out / valve shut compared to cables/pipes removed back to the main.1 -
Usually they take away the meters so could be free to put them back in and should get the latest smart meters, depends on the company involved. House I bought had newish wiring but someone had sabotaged a bit of it so they would not fit the electric meter until it was sorted - luckily I was able to track down the problem.
If the previous people had jumped the electric leads with no meter they may have cut it off elsewhere as well but I think the companies have a legal obligation to provide energy to the new owners.0 -
They have to offer a connection, but not for free or at any sensible price.
There have been people told it will cost £50k or more.0
