Energy billing incorrect

Hi. I have been with Sainsburys/e-on for too horrible years now. Stuck there. I have had separate electricity and gas bills over their incompetence and have struggled to get a grip of these bills. I found out that my balance had risen to nearly £120. I contacted them and found that I had a balance of £128.35. I asked if this could be refunded to my bank account and I was told that a request was put forward. I downloaded my latest bill (paid by DD every month). I found I was only £20 in credit. I looked at it and I found 2 gas sections. One was for gas that was 6 months old and appeared on a previous bill. I was told over the phone that I had been incorrectly billed at the end of last year. Can they do this six months later?

This is not that strait forward. They have been giving me refunds that I should have not been given. Then six months later they realise THEIR mistake and want it back. This has been a nightmare with them and I won a case against them before with the Ombudsman for lying and bullying.

It is exactly that straight forward.

You don't appear to be disputing that you owe it, just that they've corrected a mistake.  That's their right and responsibility.

In Law, they are entitled to it back. All companies make mistakes and a payment refund doesn’t change the basic fact that you have used a given amount of energy at an agreed tariff price.
