Purchase of leasehold reversion..?

Hello, hope you can help!
I’ve received a letter from the leaseholder saying they are prepared to sell the leasehold interest but I will still be “directly subject to restrictions in our headlease of the property.” Although I won’t need to pay ground rent (currently £15 p/a- house built mid-1970s and about 800 years on the leasehold) this doesn’t sound like I’m buying the freehold so is it worth buying the leasehold interest? What will I gain from this? And will it actually make any difference if I wanted to sell my house?
