You might like the answers but it doesn't make them untrue.
I will still tho pursue this as a complaint - it is not about what I like or not - more like what I feel is my right.
Make a complaint against who and what exactly?

Just a thought, as you’re moving in with your partner this now becomes a joint claim, so even if you disregard the flat, income thresholds will include both you and your partners income. Equally any savings they have.RezJila said:I live in a flat with my partner who she has inherited from his father.
I purchased my own apartment but she does not want to move into it.
So I'm asking if I rent out my own flat and live in my partner's flat would I still be able to claim housing benefit?
My flat purchasing price was 165k which was 50/50 cash and mortgage.

Can you even claim housing costs if your partner is the person charging you rent for the property they own outright?peteuk said:

Goodness, I'd missed that they asked about housing costs as well!Jyana said:

They asked about this because they want to move in with their partner and claim UC (partner is likely living in a rented property). They then want to rent out their property but not to their partner.

From the first post it sounds like they already live in the property she owns outright due to her father's inheritance. And it's not entirely clear if he already claims housing benefit since he says:poppy12345 said:Spoonie_Turtle said:

I don't remember reading that in the first comment. When i just looked i see the OP edited the comment 24 hours after posting. I totally missed a comment from them further down on page 1 about the partners property and inheritance. Which of course means they can't claim for help with any rent anyway, even if they didn't have a property of their own that they don't live in.

Oh apologises. I meant the first commet in this comment thread, not the whole post itself. Sorry, my bad for being confusing. It's a bit of a dripfeed thread, having to pick the info here and there as you go a long by the looks of it!poppy12345 said:Jyana said:
