I opened this account Martin has recommended with Sainsburys to get the advertised interest rate of 4% on over £1000 - I put in £100 as a test and it was showing !.15% - I then added a £1000 and it is still showing the interest rate as 1.15% ?
If you make 4 withdrawals in a year the rate drops to 1.15% --- but if you make no withdrawals for six monts , but then withdraw your full deposit to (to switch to a higher rate elsewhere) - do you get paid 4% interest for the six months. I would ask them but it is 5 working days minimum for an email !

The answer to the question in your second paragraph is yes, you will get the full rate of interest and it will be paid at that time if you close the account.0 -
If you have only increased the balance to greater than £1000 today, then I think you need to wait overnight for the rate to refresh.0
