Hearing aids inclusion in travel insurance

I have a single trip insurance policy for me and my husband for travel later this year. My husband has just had hearing aids fitted. These are expensive items so I wanted them included on our travel insurance, afterall if I had an expensive camera, phone or other gadget this would be included. I phoned the insurance company this morning. Apparently hearing aids are not included as gadgets and excluded totally from our insurance. Has anyone else found this? How did you get round this?

Home contents cover should be available for items outside the home such as jewellery, cameras etc etc, just check it covers travel abroad.0

Its a common exclusion but as mentioned, having Personal Possessions cover on your Home insurance will typically cover them globally.NotanotherSue said:I have a single trip insurance policy for me and my husband for travel later this year. In a similar vein even if you were to claim for your camera or phone on your travel insurance they'd ask for details of your Home insurance to see if its dual coverage and if so both policies have to pay their share resulting in a claim on your Home insurance anyway.0
