Car accident compensation

Looking for a bit of advice. I had a car accident last year when a lorry crashed into the side of me, his fault and he admitted full liability. I ended up with a concussion and whiplash. And have a severe back issue that was made worse by the crash.
I was advised to do the claim myself through official injury claim portal. So I don’t have a lawyer etc. I had a email today stating they have received my medical and they will be issuing me a offer in the next 48 hours.

my questions are, how do I know what amount is acceptable since I have no legal advice? How much am I likely to be offered for such injuries?
is it true I don’t accept the first offer

Most whiplash and soft tissue injuries fall within the whiplash injury regulations which makes it a fixed tariff for the pain, suffering and loss of amenties part of the claim. You can see the table of charges based on the duration of the injury on the second page of the law:

Column 1 is for someone with just physical injuries, column 2 is for those that also claim to have suffered minor psychological damages on top of the physical injury.

Outside of the general damages for the injury the special damages for any loss of earnings, damage to your vehicle etc should be straightforward to know what its cost you and if their offer is the same as that or not. The only slightly complexity is if they give a global offer without a breakdown but still you can roughly work it out.

What are your costs like? Is there any treatment that would ease your pain and back issue? Do you need time off work to get treatment or due to pain?
