I’m sorry to hear about the flood! It’s great you’re looking into LVT options for the replacement. Both the Aqua Plank 5G Pale Oak Click Vinyl Flooring and options from the Floors for Paws luxury vinyl range are solid choices. However, here are some additional recommendations you might want to check out:
- Karndean LooseLay – Known for durability and a good selection of styles. It's also very easy to install due to its loose-lay system, which might be worth considering.
- Amtico Click – Another high-quality, click-lock vinyl that offers a variety of stylish options and excellent durability for high-moisture areas.
- Polyflor Camaro – Also click-fit, and a good option for a range of finishes, offering both wood and stone effect designs.
As for your second question, yes, both of those options would technically be considered LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile), even though they're click systems. The click system makes it more DIY-friendly, but it doesn’t mean you can skip important floor prep. Most LVT floors, including click-lock types, need a smooth, level subfloor to ensure proper installation and longevity. If your subfloor is uneven, you may need to level it before installation, especially if it's a concrete subfloor. I personally recomend qflooring.co.uk because I have got great experience working with them.
If your floor is flat and in good condition, then yes, you can have it fitted by almost anyone with experience in laying LVT, but it’s still a good idea to consult a professional installer to make sure it's done properly. They can assess the floor and make sure it’s prepped right. If in doubt, a specialist installer can help with more tricky jobs like underfloor heating or large areas with complex layouts.

I think that it's good that even old threads have a satisfying answer, even after a while. For example, I currently in the middle of renovation, and I often browse through different forums and discussions looking information, tips, experience, etc. And often, when I find something similar to my situation, the issue is often unresolved. Let's face it, less people are currently active in forums so it's good if someone will answer a question even after a year or two. It might help someone else.1
