Wizz air credits

Looking for some advice on where I can go with this. I booked a flight with Wizz Air and later cancelled it. They refunded me via Wizz credits, I agreed to these terms but feel they aren't clear as I was of the impression they would refund me from the Wizz credits if I called them. Upon requesting this, I have been told they won't refund the Wizz credits. I have complained due to their Ts & Cs being unclear but they have said they will not consider refunding me. I feel this is unfair and would like to take this further. Is there an independent body who can look at this?

Within which jurisdiction are the Ts & Cs constructed (Wizzair are primarily a Hungarian business but also have a UK subsidiary)?

Aviation ADR might be able to help, even though they'd normally deal with issues that are more operational than contractual:

AviationADR can deal with the following complaints:

    • Denied boarding, delayed or cancelled flights
    • Damaged, lost or delayed luggage
    • Destruction, damage or loss of items worn or carried by a passenger
    • Problems faced by disabled passengers or passengers with reduced mobility
    • Issues of unfair trading
    • Pricing
    • Misrepresentation

It would be unusual for credits to be refundable to cash, but what exactly does the relevant wording say?

Did you book a refundable flight ticket or did they go above and beyond by offering you Wizz air credits? Why didn't you just ask for a refund at the time if you wasn't sure what wizz air credits were - or even just ask what wizz air credits are?
