Whilst I'm sure the comment was not intended to offend the OP, nevertheless, it was unnecessary.0 -
Agree with many of the above comments above. There are quite a few people on these forums that will adapt a patronising, irritated tone with their responses, thinking they know best.
maybe it’s because they think they can hide behind a user name ( if you think this site is bad for stuff like that you should look that the This is money comments as some of those are totally unacceptable.
maybe people should learn if they don’t like a question that’s being asked rather than directly or indirectly put that person down they just should just move on and ignore it. Nobody is forcing anyone to comment to anything on here but repeatedly it is the same people, with the same ‘tone of voice’.1 -

I frequently get irritated by seeing multiple threads, on the same topic, asking the same question, which could have been avoided if the OP had put a little effort into researching the question on the forum first.
And by that, I don't mean just using the often useless search feature of this forum, I mean by scrolling down the page, or maybe even looking on page 2 of the forum. (I'm not suggesting checking multiple pages)
One such topic is "Tax on Savings Interest". Regular new threads asking same question.
Instead of posting disparaging remarks though, I will either (a) post link to thread which may assist in the answer to OP question, or (b) ignore it and move on.
As pointed out many times on this, and other forums, posting is not mandatory.
In fact, even visiting the forum and reading each post is optional 😊4
