Hi all!! I have got awarded the lwrca component, I have been submitting fit notes from January, one of the advisors on UC told me this would be paid to me in a backpayment paid on 25 June, this date came and went and no backpayment went in, I rang today and got told no you don't get back paid on lwrca, I am confused does anyone know what's what, I specifically wrote the date down that the lady told me and when I rang today i was made feel stupid for even asking.

The LCWRA element is awarded after a 3 month waiting period beginning on the day you provide medical evidence. If it takes longer than 3 months to carry out your Work Capability Assessment the element you are awarded will be backdated to this point and you will be paid any amount owing.
So, if you first submitted your fit note in Jan, then payment should be due 3 months later in April. Payment of the LCWRA element should be backdated to the appropriate assessment period.
Bear in mind that the DWP UC 'helpline', is staffed by call handlers who have little benefits training, indeed it may be outsourced to private companies like Capita, etc to cut costs:

You might want to raise the misinformation given to you by the UC call-handler (and their poor attitude) with your MP. Having the date & time of the call would be useful.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -

What date exactly did you report your first fit note? January doesn't help, we need the exact date. Also what date do you usually receive your money each month?Alice_Holt said:
