I've found several of these at home when trying to clear out old stamps, and wondering what to do with them. The royal mail person couldn't tell me when I rang up, other than that they don't do them anymore. 
I don't need to write to anyone abroad, but can I just use them as letters to uk addresses? May keep one for memory's sake, but I guess they won't be worth much, so just want to use them really.

A quick check on some stamp collecting forums says they are still valid for a worldwide letter as long as there is no extra sheet included.   In theory they would be delivered in the UK but it does run a small risk of being surcharged because someone at RM doesn't recognise it.

Or you could try selling them on eBay....

I would be tempted to send them back to swap for bar coded stamps.  They are the equivalent of a stamp.  If you're not going to use them you have nothing to lose.  I only had a few stamps - 8 second class and 4 first class and they sent me 12 first class back

Hi, I have been trying to spread this news for sometime as many people still have some, whether they bought them for collecting or for using.

These remain valid for the value shown on them, or if the show 'Great Britain Postage Paid' they are valid for the current worldwide letter rate up to 100g, currently £3.60.

Also, because the Air Letter and Aerogramme service no longer operates they have the same value if taped to a packet or parcel whether it is being sent overseas or domestically. The 'stamp' or postage paid indicator must not be cut out! You must tape the whole thing to the parcel (or large letter). If the postage on your item is more than £3.60 (or the value of the stamp shown) you can stick more stamps to the air letter or the packet. You could try to get Post Office to produce a label for the difference, but it is much better to go prepared.

I've never had any refused, but I am known at my local POs!

That is so good to know as I have lots of these aerogrammes. Where can I find info on them? So that I can show it at the post office if I have to. I don't want my parcels going missing because of that! Have you successfully sent parcels/letters using that?

Hi Kalsha,

The picture in the first post shows the 20p Royal Wedding aerogramme I used. It is, of course, less contentious to use one with a value on it.

But I have used very many of the ones marked 'Postage Paid', with no problems. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of those but I'll add one when I get one, just for the record. (I'll ask my customers to send a picture when they arrive!)
