Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. Hope you've had a good weekend.
It's cooler here, after rain yesterday afternoon, no thunderstorms though.
We had a quiet day at home catching up with jobs.
Not a lot going on today except I've got a Drs appt about a spot in my ear, I don't think it'll be anything serious though.
The last time I had wax extraction the audiologist found it and emailed my own Dr. She had a look and referred me to another Dr, the one I'm seeing today, but so far no one seems to think it's anything much.
It's just if it keeps growing it'll get in the way of my hearing aid.
Snoozer and family, hope you're enjoying your holiday in Wales, and that you're all restored to full health, you had a bad few weeks.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.12 -
Morning All
Bright and sunny this morning but I don't think it's to last. After a decent start yesterday there was heavy rain for most of the day but a glorious evening.
As I was confined to inside yesterday I sewed 23 badges onto DGDs Brownie blanket, she's in Guides now but wants to keep the blanket for badges. After sewing the first few on by hand I got the machine out and they were done a lot more quickly. I've left the machine out as I'll make her a little draw string bag to keep it in.
Hope your Docs appt goes well Scarlet.
Enjoy your holiday Snoozer, time to rest and relax.
Well done on finishing the fence Nanny.
Wishing you peaceful dog walks Izzy.
Last full day at work for me for 6 weeks, just a half day tomorrow. Hoping there aren't too many goodies lurking about as I find it hard to say no!
Happy Monday, take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The sun is shining but it feels less oppressive this morning. We didn't get the promised thunderstorms yesterday, we just got steady rainfall late afternoon and into the evening. It saves watering all the pots.
I plan on going in town this morning as I have an small order to collect from a store plus a few toiletry bits from Body*are. I shall be straight down and back up again as we get less and less shops to browse in. I might make a start on cleaning the inside of all the windows when I get back. I have promised myself for long enough that I will tackle them!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. SNOOZER I hope you are having a much needed rest SCARLET I hope the ear problem is nothing to worry about. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning folks.Sunny start, maybe a rainy end today.Yesterday was fine, apart from my run in with a very rude M&S cashier. When I was back home I decided to take away the glass bottles (mostly jars) to the tip. On the way back I spotted my ex who had driven down from his stay on Shetland / Orkney and hoped to see me. He'd been to the house but I wasn't in, then we meet on the road. He stayed for a cup of tea before heading back to Newcastle. During his visit a neighbour called in with her very wet sprocker so it was a jolly, if brief, time.I spent the rest of the evening watching Glastonbury. Cat Stevens was so soothing, the songs took me right back to my youth. Blondie didn't touch me as much. Later I went to bed to watch Elton. I was never a fan if his music but really enjoyed his set, it would have been churlish to do otherwise.TA / weenancy - all my late DM's personal papers were taken by the university to be used for research. She had kept detailed notes of her experiences during WW2. Some of it is quite harrowing. Anyway, it's all useful. I've also got a wee notebook in which she wrote down the prices of her weekly shopping in the late 60s and early 70s.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Monday to all.11

Morning all
Bright and sunny here again I already have the doors and windows open to create a bit of breeze.
Two people coming today and we are going to meet another carer and her client and go bowling and visit the well known burger place, I will take a packed lunch with me as I don’t want a burger or chips.
Summer in winter chicken for dinner tonight, dd has the day off today so she might make it, I have had a tidy round this morning and run the hoover over.
Scarlet I hope your ear is ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
GERS Cat Stevens was my favourite of the acts I saw over the 3 days. He took me right back too to my younger days too.. I actually remember seeing him at the Imp in Nelson in probably about 1967 when he was an up and coming young 'un!. I think it was in the days of Matthew and Son if I am remembering rightly. We saw so many of the popular acts of the time there I have forgotten half of them but I still remember Cat. Btw I wasn't as impressed with Blondie yesterday as I expected to be either. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11

Morning all, thanks Scarlet- hope your ear is ok.Well it's a dull start and much cooler today. DH wanted to bbq last night, I was a bit dubious as there had been a heavy downpour but it was ok in the end.DGD tried to video call from their hols in Turkey but the connection was poor so we had to make do with what sapp messaging. They're enjoying theirselves although DGS doesn't like the food & seems to be living off chips! We called at the house to put the recycling bins out, and I got rid of some OOD food in his fridge. Tea tonight will be some steak rescued from there too
DH will put the bins back when he drops the camper back off there, it's been in for some work.
Feel a bit tired today, I could hear a bluebottle buzzing round during the night but couldn't be bothered getting up to deal with it.Hope you enjoy your day, I have read back but can't bring to mind any details sorryx

Morning. Got a friend coming round this morning for coffee while her OH does a mural in a school local to me. Shouldn't be to hot today so plenty of time for gardening later. I think I'm procrastinating again about getting the house emptied a bit more of stuff. I keep telling myself not to bring more stuff in but I do seem to be acquiring things again..Especially in the kitchen department. Other than that, not a lot, OH is on lates so supper will be the marinaded spicy chicken in a flatbread. I have to cook the rest of it then freeze on trays for later flatbread goodness...I didn't split the pack of chicken when I got home so I had to defrost all of it. we do eat these wraps regularly so I suppose it saves cooking time and I only have to warm them and make the bread.Rosy, free steak supper, woop woop! Izzy, what a pita dog owner. They won't be all apologetic if their dog gets swallowed up...or runs into traffic because it spots another dog...Gers, hope you complained. I know it's rare for British people to do that, we just never go back again usually
camelot, happy almost last day! Scarlet, hope your ear is fine. snoozer, enjoy the holiday! nnny, well done for finishing the fence, gold star for that! Take care all, shout out to the mia and unwell...
