Security Camera question

I am thinking of buying a home security camera - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BV2JGKRM/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A3PS36Q0W8SEL3&psc=1 appears a good buy with solar panel, to save battery replacement
plus it stores video/ stills to a memory card and also to the cloud (at cost ££)
Could someone please explain to me how any recorded data gets to my device (android phone/PC) ?
I understand that it is WiFi enabled and links to my router - but, unless I have my device connected and running 24/7 - how will I receive any Video / Stills ?
or does the security camera email them to me ?

You must have your camera running 24/7 or its a bit pointless really , if you don't connect it to the Internet then any video will be saved to the sd card and you will have to pull it from the camera to view it.

Normally when it's connected to the Internet video is stored in the cloud which you access through a portal/app on your phone or computer, depending on the device you can have alerts sent to your phone and view it in real-time,  some also have a mic and speaker so you can warn the intruders you've spotted them

That brand appears to be a Chinese copy with unknown qualities personally I would stick to a well known brand even if it means paying a little more

Nearly went that route last year then started to look at the reviews and videos which didnt fare well even at 4 times the price.
That camera is only 2k in the day and will be short of useless at night even with built in light.

Most of these cameras are built by one place, you to could have your own name and colour if ordered enough.

I suggest trawl through many youtube videos before committing, some will look the same as others. Will also show how each model performs in various light, what the app is like and so on.

Just make sure you can get a WiFi Signal where you are planning to put one. As you may/will find many places you want to mount one, are out of range.

I just fancied a solar powered one - to save battery replacement / charging  - and this particular one appeared good value - also has good user reports.

Iegeek cameras are low/poor quality Chinese junk. They use a crappy chinglish app to connect to view the content on the sd card. My last iegeek camera died after 3 years. So I bought a tapo camera made by tp link, and the difference like light and day.
  • Tonight's Panorama on the utterly biased BBC has a section on Chinese-made surveillance cameras.

Heres a link, you can see how badly it washes out in black and white, will not be able to identify anyone after 10 feet.
    Ok for daytime usage.
    One of many.

    Interesting - thanks
This review tends to imply that it is more than adequate for my needs as long as it is set up correctly
Its greatest benefit for me is the option of solar power - to save constant charging / battery replacement - does the TP link have this option ???

Not that I'm aware of. Mine has an 20ft power cable to a power adaptor. Not ideal if you don't have a socket nearby.
