Back from my travels. I had an awful experience in M&S with one of their staff but then enjoyed being with my friends for a coffee and lovely chat.  Just as I left the heavens opened and just as I arrived home the rain stopped.

Afternoon all.  I am still awaiting the promised thunderstorms for hereabouts but it's getting warmer by the minute. I hope when they do arrive it will cool down a bit.

I have been on a mission to find something from days gone by and I know I have kept it somewhere! I have found everything but sadly.  However it has been a real trip down memory lane rummaging through a lot of old stuff I hadn't realised we had kept. Receipts for our wedding reception - 75 pence a head for the wedding buffet, wine for toasts £11-40p, total cost £56-56p!!  Bridal car £8-00 and photographs £16-00.  Even our first mortgage book!  House price £1.500 with the repayments £16-25 a month. And we struggled to pay that some months! I can bear to shred it so it's all gone back again.

Now awaiting Cat Stevens after listening to some of yesterday's performances on the IPlayer whilst rummaging.  xx  ps sorry you have had a run in with an M & S member of staff GERS.  Grr to them.

Gers thanks for that, thought he wasn't on for long and I do love a bit of Rick 😍 Sorry you were mis-treated at M&S, really puts you off setting foot in there again. I had a unsettling time with a shopping delivery from Morries at the start of Covid when the man was so rude ! Never ordered from there again, I went with everyone else with no problems and they were always helpful and polite.
TA those prices sound so cheap against today's, but it was a small fortune at the time. Happy wanderings down memory lane.

@TravellingAbuela - someday a museum would love to have those papers. That is the sort of thing that those of use studying history look for all of the time and can seldom find. And writers go crazy for papers like this to add authenticity to their books. Please, never shred them without checking with a local archives or museum first. Thank you.

No they are not being shredded. They have joined our marriage certificate in all my family history stuff. x
