Hello again, it's a lovely morning here, but I know it's forecast to rain. However I've put a towel load in the wm, I might get them dry.
I did a bit of shopping yesterday, then home for the day.
TA, I'm pleased that the funeral went ok, how nice that you were mentioned. I hope that you'll be all right at the family gathering.
Enjoy your break from school Camelot, you sound worn out.
Izzy, that dogwalker! She sounds daft, fancy saying it wasn't her fault she couldn't control her dog.
Pleased you had a quieter day Gers.
Nanny, glad to hear that your niece is battling on, poor soul. It's very nice of you to compliment me on helping our friend, but she has been very kind to us and our family over the years, and we like to do what we can for her. She's known Dh for most of his life, and knew his parents.
I don't think there'll be much going on here today, but there's plenty of little jobs to do, as ever.
Hope everyone has a good day - take care folks.12 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you get that washing dried. It's dry at the moment but we are due some thundery showers in a bit.
It got really warm yesterday afternoon after a wet start so all the washing was dry and I ironed what needed to be done, all put away now.
Went to the allotment - everything has really grown so quickly after a poor start. I got another load of broad beans, some for my dinner, some for tonight and some for my neighbour. They aren't the easiest to shell but so worth it! Lots of tidying up in the garden and I may have gone to the plant nursery to buy more plants as they had a sale on! All planted up and the garden is looking nice and full. I was also given a tray of geraniums and some sort of daisies from the allotment and they were squeezed in too. Just hoping the rain doesn't batter them too much.
Today - swim in the loch and some shopping, must remember to get some gifts for our cleaners and dinner ladies, a small bottle of wine should do the job with some chocolate too.
Hope you can enjoy your family gathering TA, these things are always difficult when you're on your own.
Have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX12 -

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Lovely sunny start here but like others we have thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon.
Yesterday turned out better than I had imagined. Lovely and warm and we were all sitting outside from about 3 until 9, before we all went our separate ways. The old moorland restaurant has been done up beautifully. It's quite a while since I was in there and we were regulars for a few years back in the day.
Not much planned for today other than the usual Sunday of Sloth.
Have a nice day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, getting better or MIA. IZZY grr to the stupid dogwalker. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all. It's very windy here with a hint of rain in the air. Yesterday afternoon turned out to be warm with wet interludes. I took myself off to the canal sea lock and sat drinking coffee watching the goings on. The husband of one of the staff is a master baker so all the offerings are rather splendid in a non-flashy way. I had a very lovely cherry scone with my drink. My closest cousin rang me from Berlin for a long chat. I'm all caught up with the family news now. 😀 In the evening I indulged myself by watching Guns and Roses for far too long. They were slightly rubbish in parts and great in others. I'm really enjoying the coverage of Glastonbury whilst deeply happy to not be there! This morning I'm heading for a bit of shopping and the dropping in to see some friends on the way back. A pleasant day ahead I hope.Happy Sunday to all.12

Morning OSers! Thanks Scarlet. Well it sounds as if everyone enjoyed their warm/hot days yesterday. We had a good time at the local music fest.DS took and picked us up. Met up with friends, and saw other people we knew, so it was great - warm though, had to keep mopping my brow
and the musicians we are friendly with were dripping when they came off the stage
I took my own low carb snacks, DH called at the butchers famed locally for their pork pies and took some of that & later got a spicy chicken and chips which he shared with a friend - it was massive. He got some kebabs for today too so we'll bbq them if it's still decent weather, seems to be clouding over now though.
We'll have to go over to DS2s to put his bins out tonight too.Well no more from me, have a good day everyone x

Hello all, we had some drizzly rain yesterday morning that wasn't in the forecast so we had to down tools for an hour grrr. But I can finally report that the fence is now, drum roll please ....... all up !!!! Now I have persuaded Mr Fix It that he needs a gate put on between the fence and his shed as I want to fill the narrow gap and use up the half a panel we have left otherwise it will linger somewhere in the garden rotting while it waits for Justin ! He now thinks it was his good idea 😉
Mr Fix It was called upon by Tom the neighbour last evening as he was having trouble with his car, he couldn't get a nut off as you needed a manufacturers tool apparently 🤨. Cue the cavalry to the rescue and it was all done in no time, without the tool, and Tom was £75 better off, or £200 if he had to put it in a garage.
It's a lovely sunny day and I have a load in the wm although we were supposed to wake up to rain. I'll hang it out and then potter about for the rest of the day or put my feet up depending on how hot it gets, yesterday afternoon turned out to be a scorcher 🌞.
Camelot good on you buying more plants, the more the merrier I say. I'm sure I can squeeze in one or two more too.
Gers I watched Rick Astley at Glastonbury and enjoyed that, but he only sang 2 songs 🙁 I saw Debbie Harry at the I of W one and she went on for far too long 🥱
Scarlet compliments given where compliments are due. Everyone should have friends like you and Mr S.
Izzy I'd love to see that race, I'm a fan of the Rocky Horror show.
TA glad you had a good time last night.
Rosy happy you had a great time rocking away at the music fest.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones and the MIA's. Snoozer are you ok ?

Morning allWell just about packed for my holiday. Early flight out tomorrow so staying overnight at an airport hotel. DS will be watering the garden while we're gone. He'll be in the dog house if he forgets although the weather next week looks cloudy and in the early 20s so should be OK. Don't want to lose my sunflowers as I grew them from seeds.Talking of Glastonbury @Gers gutted to be missing Cat Stevens, used to have a big crush on him in the late 60s early 70s. Have recorded Elton John though as I'll be in the land of nod when he's on.Keep safe everyone x9

Thanks Nanny, I'm ok, reading along ATM because we're in Pembrokeshire with the whole family plus Brian's dad and partner and Steve's sister. Three littlies doesn't leave a lot of time to do much.
Btw, Chris has been told he's the only applicant for the job in Peterborough so it's a done deal unless something drastic happens. Unlikely because he's told them he'll have to leave if he doesn't get the transfer and he's highly regarded (one director said he didn't know Chris but what he'd heard could be summed up in one word, integrity which is a lovely thing to hear).
Anyway, hugs to all the poorlies, I'm glad your niece is recovering Nanny but she's got a long road ahead.
Have a good day.11 -
Chrisca enjoy your holiday.
Snoozer sorry I didn't realise you were away. Hope you're all ok now and having a great time. Fingers crossed Chris's new job comes off too.
