How many Tesco Points do I get?

I have a Tesco credit card and Tesco clubcard and normally spend about £150 a week in Tesco.

How many points do I get when using my Tesco credit card as I now have a debit card that gives me 1% cashback?

One point per £4 spent in Tesco, one point per £8 elsewhere.  If you use it in Tesco petrol you get 1 point per litre against the 1 point per 2 litres for normal Clubcard and you only need to use it as the Clubcard, you don't need to pay with it.

That's what I thought, I'm now better off using my 1% cashback card to pay in Tesco instead of my Tesco credit card, I will still of course use my clubcard for the points. Same for petrol.

My husband used to deal with the finances.

It depends what kind of card you have and how long you’ve had it…
There’s more than a dozen different kinds - many/most no longer available to new customers - and they have different rates.

This is the correct answer.

Unless you have the Premium card, you are likely better with something offering 1% cashback. If you do have the Premium card then you need to be sure you're getting sufficient value from your £36 annual fee.

In which case you're earning something pitiful - use the Tesco card in filling stations to activate 1 pt per litre, but pay using your debit card and bank the cashback.
