Charging tablet in car, does it increase fuel consumption?

The biggest cost of leaving your tablet in your car overnight will be the smashed window when someone steals it !
Yup, accidentally left a mobile phone on charge in a car overnight (parked on a drive).  The following morning I had a broken window and no phone.

And about 20 minute longer journey,  So savings are money v time.
I used to dash around until I realised all I was doing was chasing traffic jams - a little slower and got there just as quick besides savings on fuel and a lot less stress.

Our lad was moaning his Fiesta was thirsty and I initially jumped to the conclusion something was wrong with it.

I took it out for a few days and couldn't see/find anything wrong, it drove ok and returned reasonable mpg.
I then did a trip with him driving and instantly realised what was wrong!

Repeated hard acceleration and heavy braking wasn't helping his cause, nor was riding the clutch at the lights while holding the engine as high rpm.

We swapped seats and did the same trip with me driving again and we actually got there faster, drastically up on mpg on the readout.
I didn't really drive any faster or slower.

I wasn't accelerating up to red lights, junctions, bends and standing on the brakes but anticipating traffic and the road ahead.

The upshot is, you really just can't teach it to him, he still drives like he did and has poor mpg because of it as I "drive like an old man".
The only plus side is I don't let him drive my car anymore!

BTW a tablet has what, an 8 or 10 milliamp battery and a car battery has around 40 amps.
You'd need to plug a lot of tablets in before the car battery flattened.
