Adding single toilet to loft conversion

Hi,

I want to know if it would be possible to add a single toilet and sink (or combination) to an existing velux loft conversion. The toilet would be above bathroom below.

Ideally how big does a toilet room need to be? Rough costs for this?

Could you post a picture from the bed looking the other way so we can see both ends of the room?

A 'cloakroom' style setup won't take much space at all to will probably be possible. It may be worth looking if you could squeeze a full en suite in though to add a shower up there?

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately I can't as I am in the process of buying this property now! I did think about adding a small shower, maybe across the entire back wall, but kidney issues mean the toilet is the most important part!

A toilet room only really needs to be a bit bigger than the toilet and a small sink. I have seen a few where people have converted the space under the stairs into a small toilet. An outward opening door means it can be even smaller.

Depending on the toilet chose and one of those mini sinks, you could get it into a space less than a meter square. The mini sink could also be mounted above the toilet tank to save more space

Just looked and building regs say 70cm x 130cm is the minimum size.

To help visualise, a 70cm x 130cm room would be the red block shown to scale, so you would have plenty of room to put one in

I fitted a full shower room under my stairs. 80cm x 200cm, it was adequate but obviously not luxurious.

Nice! Do you have any pics? I am worried about ceiling height where the slopes are quite low.

You can get a toilet that has a basin at the top of the cistern, if you are really pressed for space.
