My mother was a shareholder in this company. She died 4 years ago and
left me her shares. I only have an interim certificate dated 17th December 1990.
I am in a position to provide a copy of the death certificate and the share
certificate. Whom should I approach?

It was acquired for cash by Hanson in 1995. Your mother should have received a cheque or electronic payment and thrown the defunct certificate away.

Whom should I approach?IIRC an interim certificate was issued around that time when the first payment installment had been made. There were then a further two(?) installments due which resulted in a second interim certificate and then a final certificate being issued. Therefore she may have kept the interim certificate after the Hanson buyout because it was only the final certificate that had to be sent in to get the Hanson money.0
