Edf whether by design or accident - seem to have not only cheaper off peak deals than many.
But arguably seem to have been targetting the peak vs peak bias to help typical consumers - lowering night rates for heating in winter and day rates for living in summer.
It is of course nonsense to only look at one rate - when it is the total cross the two is capped. And only the average price across total usage for both that matters when deciding e7 vs Sr etc.
When EDF dropped their night rates in many areas heavily in Jan - firms like EOn were putting them up peak and off peak over 2p.
Representing iirc upton c17% on heating costs over winter months in posts here.
MSE posters were flocking to their c10p rates in Jan - and not just Eastern ? where it remains below 10p now iirc. Some speculate due to their nuclear plants in region - perhaps EDF have even said so.0 -
I'd put money on them leaving the ratio as is now all through winter as hardly anyone noticed, and those that did were immediately shot down with the "well you are now much better off over summer" argument.0
