Don't know what to do about young driver insurance after accident

Unfortunately she has had a collision where she was at fault.Pedantically, no.The daughter had the accident, and must declare an accident for the next 5 years.The OP made a claim, and must declare a claim for the next 5 years.It boils down to the same thing though, both are penalised for the next 5 years, which is why any offspring using your car should have their own insurance, then you didn't make a claim, suffer a loss, or have an accident and your premiums are unaffected.Note that they always ask if you have had an accident, made a claim or suffered any loss, so you will be a liar (and hence making a fraudulent application) if for example, someone knocked your mirror off and you just bought a second hand one and replaced it without claiming but you don't declare it.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
