My acanthus loves my sunny dry border.  I was thinking of splitting it and seeing if it would also thrive in the NNW shady damper border opposite but now discover that it has self seeded.  Does it come true from seed?

One of the self seeded plants is in a sort of fox highway, where the soil is so compacted that it would be difficult to get anything else to survive. So that’s good.  How long does it take to get to full size and flower?  After two, maybe three, years it’s still only about a foot high.

The other has appeared more recently, so still quite small. It would be much easier to move it than to try to split the parent.  Presumably I should wait until autumn to shift it?

I need something for ground cover and another thread mentions Foxes and Cubs, which seems just what I need.  Have I got it right that this is Pilosella aurantiaca?  Where can I get it?
