fridge freezer not keeping cold

I have a cheap 3 year old Beko fridge freezer. It is in the garage, but the info does say it is suitable for garages. It is not keeping cold. The fridge temperature is almost room temperature and the freezer temp is currently -6. So something is still cooling the freezer, but not sufficiently. Any ideas?

Beko have a good reputation for their fridges and freezers working well in the wide temperature fluctuations of a garage.

The temps you quote, are they the temps the appliance is telling you or are they your own independent thermometers? Thermometers are cheap and it is useful to to have both readings.

Listen to it. Is the motor running constantly or hardly at all? It should be running 10-30% of the time in this current weather.

Is it level? Is there ventilation all round?

Is there too much ice inside? If drainage holes are blocked the temperature probes can become icebound.

Thanks for replying. It is the temperature on my thermometer- it’s a cheap appliance and doesn’t show its own temperature. Nothing blocking the drainage holes. Good ventilation and its level. It’s not running all the time, don’t know how often it is running as it’s out of the way.

Is the rear of the appliance clean ??
    Free of dust etc.
That's the most common problem with all refrigeration equipment.
Unplug it if it needs cleaning of course.

Whats the condition of the seals?  Might be worth just making sure the door closes firmly

Rear is all clear and the seals are fine.

Is it running constantly? If so, maybe its thermostat has failed, but I presume there is one for the fridge and one for the freezer, so that seems unlikely. Maybe the compressor has failed or the fluid has leaked out and evaporated. It could be using a lot of electricity if running constantly.
If you have a local repair company, might be worth a call for them to examine it. Could be beyond economical repair though.

Very disappointed if it is beyond repair at 3 years old.
