I recently posted about i am due to give evidence in court in August after i was coercively controlled and assaulted by my ex husband.
Today one of the officers in charge of the case has let me know my ex step daughter has raised concerns about he dad going to court.
She is saying she thinks he might be mentally ill or even getting mild dementia due to the stress of being charged and going to court he is 63 much older than me im only 42.
Surely she is just trying a get out of jail card?.
Also she doesnt think he should have to give me a divorce settlement.
I have not received it yet although divorce was granted in November 2021 he is being awkward and refusing to put the house up for sale or buy me out.
Any advice welcome.

These are questions you should ask your paid legal counsel and the CPS, not unqualified and unknown strangers on the internet.

I phoned the CPS barrister and they said that the trial is very much still going ahead.
This is a attempt to get himself off but it won't work.
Also I was told the arresting officers will be giving evidence for the prosecution and maybe the first CID officer to interview him.
Is it standard at a crown court case?.Britain is great but Manchester is greater0 -

Hi, I have to agree with the answers you've already received. Yours is obviously a very complex case and cannot possibly be solved, nor even helped, by strangers on a public forum.
One of the main problems here is that, with the best will in the world, we only have one side of the story and so we cannot possibly make any comment or give any suggestions.
If you do not have legal representation, then you should definitely get some now as a matter of great urgency.
When you say 'one of the officers in charge of the case has let me know' - I assume you mean police officers and not court officers. But in any case, that officer should have consulted your legal representative in the first instance. Giving you bits and bobs of random information in an informal way is just not on.

All the best.
If he or someone on his behalf is trying to claim he is unfit to stand trial it is very difficult to prove and will require proper medical evidence.
IThe DS said they and the CPS are really trying for a custodial sentence to be implemented if found guilty but they have told me that they are 100 percent certain that he will be found guilty.
In fact I have been told his solicitor advised him to plead guilty based on the evidence the police presented.
I hope he goes to Strange ways for at least 12 months.Britain is great but Manchester is greater0 -

This is a public forum and you would be wise not to post further in this vein on this matter.
Best wishes in your future life, but no more comment on any forthcoming Court matter is wisest now.
