Yeah the last 3 panels me and my father in-law put up and have lasted a few years think the hope is this time as mentioned they won’t need to be done again now we are using concrete posts there is also a gate and a side panel which is connected to the fence which connects to my neighbours side that’s also being change my wife was very much of the same opinion as you let’s just replace the last 3 panels and post.Jonboy_1984 said:Is it just the posts that are rotten or is there further damage.
If the posts are simply rotten at ground level you can often fit repair spurs to support the fence. These can be done DIY for around £20-£25 per post, or contractors are typically £80-£100 per post.
my view is we can pay £690 here have the whole fence changed with concrete posts and boards obviously because my neighbour is paying more as well that we should take up The chance while he’s offering feel like if I try to sort it myself I’ll no doubt be doing it again in 3 years because I can’t do it to a standard plus my father in law is like early 60s don’t think he’s as willing to help as much now likes to relax.

The 2 fences to the right post are completely cut off from ground level the one on the left tied to the bear carving is rotten and also Come away I mean look At it it’s a mess lol

Who says it's your fence? Usually legally you're only required to maintain the boundary line.
I know in my deeds there is nothing about who owns each fence, just that they are party fences. So if the neighbours wants a new fence then let them pay.0 -

and seems reasonable about it that’s why I was saying my only other Option would be to say no and replace the 3 panels and 4 posts but that’s why I asked on here because potentially I could pay £200 to sort it and will no doubt have the same issue in afew years or pay £500 more get it all done and someone else do it hopefully to a lot more professional standard then I’m offering hahaha

You could explain to the neighbour that money is tight at the moment ,and IF he paid for the fence you could pay him your half over say 3 months if he agrees ,you could put it in writing as a formal agreement to cover him.0

Not sure about Ganga's suggestion. The neighbour has gone above and beyond to help already (would that we all had neighbours like that) and you can push goodwill a tad too far.The bonus might be that having a neat and tidy garden would increase your partners income with the children.............so bringing in more money.Oh, and give that poor bear a swipe over with some oil

Well that’s pretty much my opinion I do feel he’s gone out his way to try make it easy as possible spoke with him today and he said he didn’t mind paying it all and I’ll pay him over a few months but I honestly don’t wanna do that so I’ll do the credit card and pay over 3 months.twopenny said:Not sure about Ganga's suggestion. All done thanks for all of your views I’ll be honest it’s been so windy last 3 days and normally after a night shift I’d have to go out in the morning and hold everything down haha so a lot less stressful now 
so now I need to move onto the shed which has a floor that’s rotten in a corner and the first 3 bottom side slats of wood has completely gone is it hard to repair and would it cost a lot as just been looking up the price of a new shed and that’s a definite NO lol
