Hi, can anyone advise me on how to deal with my latest bill from Scottish Power (SP)

My bill shows that SP have cancelled my last 11 bills because they were estimated and replaced them with new estimated outstanding amounts,
Each new bill is now showing/ including cancellation fees

My questions are:

What energy rate is a Back Bill calculated on?
How have SP calculated each new estimated bill ?
Why have they included a cancellation fee for each one?
Is each cancellation fee based on either Pro-Rata Short-Rata or Flat-Rata ?
Is there a 30 day time limit for SP to cancel a utility bill (paid in full) and should that include a Payment Reversal to me in full?

Thank you

Andy

Why are estimates being used at all?
Don't you provide readings, or have working smart meters?
The first thing to do is get your current readings and submit them to Scottish Power, then see what statement they produce.

    Hi Victor2
Yes I have been supplying meter reading but they have been ignored by Scottish Power and I keep getting Estimated bills, No I do not have a smart meter, had guys out twice to fit one only to be told No because I live in a four-in-a-block they would have to cut the power to other three, still waiting on Scottish Power to deal with it

Have you asked them why they are not using your readings?
If you don't get a satisfactory answer, make a formal complaint in writing, online chat or by email and clearly headed COMPLAINT. You need to keep a record of what is said. Then you can follow their published complaints procedure and escalate it if necessary.

Are you really sure about that?  A cancellation fee on a bill for replacing an estimate with an actual reading?  I think you're mis-interpreting it.

What energy rate is a Back Bill calculated on?

Whatever the rate was for the time the bill covers.  Just like all other bills.

How have SP calculated each new estimated bill ?

Meter readings and unit rates.  Like all other bills.  You might disagree with the readings, but they're not doing anything unusual.

Why have they included a cancellation fee for each one?
Is each cancellation fee based on either Pro-Rata Short-Rata or Flat-Rata ?

As previous, I don't think they have included a cancellation fee.

Is there a 30 day time limit for SP to cancel a utility bill (paid in full) and should that include a Payment Reversal to me in full?

No limit.  No reversal.  Payments you have made will be included in the calculation of the replacement bill.

If you want to post an anonymised version, we can see whether it makes sense.

My latest bill from Scottish Power (SP) has now been deleted from my SP on-line account,

it has been replaced with a new estimated bill still showing a column titled  Cancelled Charges  for 23 Jun 2022 - 18 May 2023,
this includes all of my last eleven bills for that time that I paid in full now cancelled, the new bill shows estimated Back Bills for each of the last twelve months,

deducting my eleven payments already paid in full I am now faced with an outstanding estimated usage fee of £555.37

included in this bill is an estimated bill for 29 Sep 2022 - 30 Sep 2022  for ONE DAY replaced with a new estimated bill for ONE DAY

also the new bill starts with a 22 Jun 2022  (customer read) - readings, the paper bill I have for 22 Jun 2022 is showing (estimated) - readings, so where do they get these numbers?

I have contacted SP and waiting for a reply, interested to know what SP "Cancelled Charges" really are

When a supplier revises a bill, it usually reverses all the charges back to the last actual meter reading and it raises new charges from this date.

For what its worth, i've got a thread here as well (I think its not updated since yesterday) as Scottish Power have switched my fixed tariff (due to expire dec 2023) to a standard variable, and applied this retrospectively for the last year, and sent me a nice bill for the difference.

Wondering if they may have made a few mistakes, but cant get through to them on the phone yet.
