PayPal Credit Default

in Credit cards
Hi all,
I’ve had a PayPal account since around 2006 but opened a PayPal Credit account quite a few years ago. Following opening the account I had a negative Bala be on it and moved house. When I moved house I changed my address through the PayPal app where I also manage (and even opened) my PayPal Credit account.
Some time passed and somehow my regular payments weren’t being made to PayPal which resulted in a default notice and my PayPal credit account being closed, as a result of PayPal never changing my address or other details when I moved. I complained PayPal when this happened and was told that changing my address through the app didn’t change my PayPal Credit address so I complained as I felt this wasn’t at all clear and they said they would change my address and other details.
Jump forward a year (which was just over a year ago now) and I realise my address still hasn’t been changed and that I have been issued with a default on
my credit file which I put down to PayPal not changing my address so I was unaware of the missed payments and default notice.
All I really want is the default removed from my credit file as this was not my fault and the balance was paid in full (around £3000) as soon as I got in contact with them and realised what was going on.
Is it possible to get the default removed and if so what is the best way of going about it? So far I have lodged a formal complaint through PayPal’s website and given them a month to remove the default or I’ll look at taking things further.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards Pr0d1Gy

You can reasonably argue that Paypal should have updated your address across all your accounts unless the app was clear that you had to inform Paypal separately for any credit account.
But this does not really explain why they failed to take the normal debit from your bank account, does your bank say the direct debit was still in place? If it was then this is Paypal's fault and you should complain. And take it to the Financial Ombudsman if Paypal reject it.
If you somehow cancelled the direct debit or changed banks then this is not Paypal's fault but yours.

So no emails from PayPal stating no payments?
As others above. Did you not notice that funds were not being taken?Life in the slow lane0
