Was contacted by SLC Student Finance England, following application for daughters SL ( this is third child so felt I knew what I was doing) to say I had attached a form incorrectly to my daughters account, which I don't have access to.Checked my own account stated all forms recieved and application complete. Contacted SLC via phone and was initially told I had done something wrong, then when pressed, the call handler acknowledged they had committwed a data breach and attached my forms to my daughters account. Now I had contacted them she would alert IT. I have made an official complaint and informed my MP.Anyone else experienced this situation?

I just hope the mistake is raised on the next PMQ's as a matter of urgency.1

We received notification on 22/6/23 that they could not accept our PR2 forms because they had been attached to our daughter's online account unsigned. This triggered an immediate series of emails to my daughter saying that as a result of her parents not supplying information on household income she would only be awarded the minimum maintenance loan for years 2022/23 and 2023/24. The result was an overpayment of £6000+ !!! This resulted in an award of £0 for 2023/24. Not surprisingly this was very upsetting to all concerned.
I rang SFE the next day and the nice lady said that I had submitted the PR2 form to my daughter's account and it was unsigned. I did not do this because I have no access to my daughter's account. The PR2 form was not signed because the SFE specifically say that this form does not need signing if attached to your own account which it was (my wife's too). When pressed and after a few pauses to get advice the lady returned and admitted that it had been a mistake on their part and somehow the PR2 had been attached to my daughter's account by SFE (possible IT error?).
She told us not to worry they would sort it out by "re-scanning" the application and then re-sending the application to the assessment team, a procedure that would take 5 working days and 18 working days respectively.
I rang today and was told the same story but there had been no activity since the previous phone call so the guy said he would re-refer the application for re-scanning. He also told me not to worry be please note that they are very busy at the moment.
I guess this is the same "mistake" that happened to you. Nobody mentioned there had been a data breach although technically I suppose this is what it is.
Has your application been rectified?

Further to my above post. The matter has since been sorted by SFE. No further issues.1
