Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's raining but sunny here, not cold though. We arrived home at the weekend after a hot few days in Scotland, it was lovely. Nice to go out without a coat, and we visited gardens, which we particularly enjoy.Back to reality now, I did all the washing but there's ironing to do now of course.I haven't read back properly yet, I must do that.Just an ordinary day ahead, I've got to go to the Drs for a blood test. then I'll do a bit of shopping on the way home.Glad to see you back Bella and Coxy, hope you enjoyed your holidays.Sorry to hear about your niece Nanny, and thought to anyone else who is poorly.Take care folks, have a good day.12

Morning folks. The promised rain started to arrive late yesterday evening though it began more like heavy mist then continued overnight. No storm, just persistent, not even heavy. It's meant to go on all day so things should green up soon.I drove up to Oban to stock up on veggies and tinned tomatoes. I really wanted tinned cherry toms but couldn't find any so stuck to ordinary ones. Even my favourite brand was out of stock. I'm sure it won't make too much difference in the long run. 😀
I hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying some respite from the heat. Happy Monday to all.11 -
Morning All
It's raining this morning, there was a threat of it from about 4.30 yesterday when the clouds came in after a really hot few hours. It had been forecast for showers all day so a bonus was getting two loads of washing dried.
After a busy few hours sorting out the tomatoes in the greenhouse and doing some much needed housework I sat out reading, lovely to have an afternoon with nothing else to do!
Hoping your DN is on the road to recovery Nanny.
Glad you enjoyed your time in Scotland Scarlet, you certainly picked a good week weatherwise.
Last full week at work this week, lots to sort before the big finish next Tuesday including a trip out for the house winners.
My friends across the road are having a new bathroom fitted this week so I'm expecting a string of visitors to use the shower from tonight. They have a key so no problems if I'm not in - at least they have another loo or they would be here constantly!
Hope you all have a happy Monday, hugs to those not feeling 100%. Take care. XX11 -
Morning all no storm for us last night just some rain but looks like it will be a nice day again .Dog is off to the groomers and the landscaper is coming for hopefully the next few days other than that it is back to the same old . Morning everyone it rained non stop through the night which made for a fresher feel this morning on my dog walk it’s still warm and I think we might just miss any showers today but the car looks cleaner and it’s saved me watering the pots outside pleased you had a good holiday scarlet thinking of your DN nanny the poor girl has been through a lot. I have a little gammon joint to cook for tonight we will have with salad and there will be enough for sandwiches tomorrow. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The sun is shining and the sky is blue and we finally got the promised heavy rain yesterday evening. That has freshened it up a bit and given the gardens a good soaking too. Welcome back SCARLET and COXY, good to hear you both had good holidays.
After a bit of a Slothful Sunday yesterday I suppose I had better do a few jobs today. And I will wash the bedding which was put on hold yesterday due to a poor forecast. And I really could do with defrosting the tall freezer and giving it a good sort out at the same time. Not a job I enjoy.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and getting better. NAN I keep thinking of your poor niece, if all goes well she will have a long road to recovery by the sound of it. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all.. It's been lightly raining but now the sun is threatening to take over. My water butts are nearly full so that's a while longer I won't have to use the outside tap and pay for it. I have bits to collect for a tip run tomorrow, not much, just the odd thing here and there. I could probably just put it in the normal bin but I usually put out a carrier bag or less of waste every two weeks and I feel guilty now if I put more in because the boy who usually empties it just sticks his hand in and gets the bag out now. At least some of it will go to be burned anyway. And I get to surreptitiously sneak peek if anyone is getting rid of something I want
Not sure what else I'm doing, apart from trying to get the garage door out from where OH has pushed it past the frame. I fear this one will be beyond me though, all the tool I need to sort it are actually in the garage. That I can't get into...
Coxy, welcome back, glad you had a nice time. Scarlet, you too! camelot, nice that you get on so well with them. TA, I also used to hate defrosting the freezer but now it's quite warm, I don't mind so much, the ice melts faster and it doesn't take as long. Nanny, good news then from the docs for your niece, or at least, not worse news. Take care all, enjoy your day...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
Morning all
Yesterday afternoon the rain started and went on all evening and night it feels a lot fresher this morning and the garden will enjoy the rain.
Only one guest coming this morning as the other one has an appointment I think we will take the dogs out for a nice long walk as she loves the dogs and enjoys walking we can have a picnic lunch while we are out.
Dinner tonight will be bacon egg and sausages with a few chips for those that want them.
I need to run the hoover round this morning and I will put a wash on.
Welcome back to scarlet and Coxy xx
Nan hope there has been some improvement for your niece xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, we had some thunder Lightning and heavy rain late afternoon, fortunately it stayed bright while DGD played her match. We nipped up to the retail park after to spend DHs next voucher that he got for his birthday ( in Feb ! ) It was so busy so we were glad to get home. I set about making the FDay tea, steak, veg & chips, which made a change from salad, followed by lemon drizzle cake.DS2 called to collect 2 suitcases he's borrowing for their hols later this week. Other than that we sat in the garden reading until it started looking thundery. I finished mine and I haven't any library books left as I didnt go to town last week but there are still a few detective ones of DH that I haven't read yet.Sending best wishes for your DN Nan.Better start doing some jobs, not sure if it'll keep fine enough to hang out the washing- had to get a new prop yesterday, as the old wooden one was rotten and snapped when I put it under the washing last week- fortunately I heard it crack and lifted the line so it didnt all fall on the floorHope you all enjoy your day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
