Rolls Royce Bonds - scam or not - you decide :)

Dear Forumites,

Now, I have no plans of investing at all in this which arrived via an unsolicited email, but out of interest I had a quick look

rolls .royce .group .co .uk

It purports to be selling a 5.75% fixed rate bond, and to be honest, it all seems perfectly legitimate and not anything significantly above current rates for corporate bonds (other than the rather strange phrase "Only enquiries can be eligible" at the top of the page). However, Rolls Royce uses the domain rolls-royce.com which is different than the bond offering, and when I checked the information on that domain it turns out it was only registered on 9th June 2023, a couple of days before I received the email offer. which is very suspicious.

So, wise people, scam or legit - I vote scam, but pretty sophisticated website, it even went to the trouble of getting a https certificate.

Without even looking you can be sure it's a scam and 5.75% will have been chosen as it'll match the rate of an existing Rolls-Royce bond listed on the LSE.

I'd ask how I came to be on this e-mail's distribution list.

My rule is, if its an unsolicited communication is a scam.

Massive thank you to those on the long since defunct Matched Betting board.

A very obvious scam.    Multiple indicators of that (fake spoof domain, rolls royce not holding any FCA permissions on deposits, unsolicited email, website grammar and us of language is poor with no compliance messages and does not match corporate identity).

    Helpfully it tells you:
    Positive highlights
We found a valid SSL certificate
DNSFilter labels this site as safe
Checked for malware and phishing by Flashstart
These websites are pretty useless to be honest (and many of them - though not scamadviser.com as far as I can tell - exist to promote their own scams).

Agree with the posters above. Impossible to tell if this is a scam or not without a lot more details.
