in Credit cards
get? according to martin's website it seems better than the virgin card and you also have to go online to apply for this. I think at the moment the £2600 i can release through the abbey MBNA card i have might be a good starting point but i would really need a bit more than this at the moment.
1) Should i first apply for the barclaycard card and then release cash from the abbey card?
2) how do you know - if at all - how much credit they will give you .
back in january 2007 i had an abbey credit card and for some reason or other - misunderstanding i think it was - they reduced my credit limit from £2400 from about double that amount because the payment came in a bit later (because i think the bank have forgotten to set up the direct debit order or something of the sort). Could i ask them to up the amount again? and should i?
Thanks everyone for any help in advance. really appreciated.
from what i gather the abbey is the only card that is open for me. i cancelled all the others. what is the easiest way to make sure that these are cancelled? would it come up as settled account on my credit rating or would you just call up each card if not in my file. any tips appreciated. will check the files also in the meantime.

you could call them and ask as long as you have been paying on time since then and they may increase it if they see a good spending and payment pattern
