I’m recently extremely disappointed with the service from Lloyds Bank and was considering switching to NatWest for the £200 and the 6.17% saver (Lloyds declined me for the Club Lloyds Monthly Saver due to one maturing within the past 12 months). My Club Lloyds current account is also now just a secondary current account and I’ve already used my cinema vouchers, so I’ve not got much to use them for now.
It’s also turned into an excess account as I had to move away my main banking services due to Lloyds Bank not being able to provide a working debit card and slow payments (they couldn’t even give me a reason why!).
The only reason I’m hesitant is that my family have used Lloyds Bank for over around 120 years collectively and I’ve been using them for over 40, so I’m wondering what effect it would have on my credit score with such a longstanding account closing and if it would impact my Halifax credit card. Anyone any further advice?

You don't necessarily have to close it. You could get a burner account somewhere, immediately switch that to NatWest and then manually move things from Lloyds, keeping Lloyds open.Do you have any loans anywhere else, I'd have thought that would count more towards your credit report than having an ancient Lloyds account. It won't make any difference to the Halifax credit card0
